Trout For Lake Georgina

A total of 509 rainbow trout was transferred from Lake Lyndon to Lake Georgina last month by the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society. This was reported by the fish committee to a meeting of the society’s council.

The council agreed that further efforts to transfer the proposed 1000 fish be postponed to next spring. The fish ranged in length from 2in to 12in and there was no difference in nettings that made during daylight and night hours.
