STATE HOUSES IN HOMES PARADE
Prospective Buyers’ Inspection
The four houses built by the Government for the Parade of Homes in Wayside street will be open for inspection by prospective buyers on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The other houses in the parade will not be open.
The State Advances Corporation has advertised the sale of the four houses at prices from £2400 to £3450, including washing machines, linoleum, light fittings, fences and paths. The section is not included in these sums. After a preliminary selection of applicants, the buyers will probably be chosen by ballot. The parade committee has announced the winners of the competition to select the five houses in the parade offering the best value for money. TJie first prize wMs won by Mrs F. McKenzie, 52 Athol terrace, Middleton, whose choice was nearest to the most popular order of selection.
The second prize was won by Mrs G. A. Taylor, 24 Tancred street, Linwood; Mrs A. G. Moore, 274 Grahams road, Waimairi, and Mrs V. Hagerty, 89 Amyes road, Belfast, shared the third prize.
