PORT SAID WAR MEMORIAL
No Reply By Egypt To N.Z.
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, April 9. The Egyptian Government has not yet replied to a Note from the New Zealand Government protesting about the desecration of the Anzac War Memorial at Port Said.
The Prime Minister (Mr Holland) gave this information when questioned about a reported second protest by Australia. The New Zealand Note was delivered last February through the agency of the Swiss Government, which is looking after New Zealand’s interests in Egypt at present.
Mr Holland said that the Government would consider what further action should be taken at the appropriate time.
