Fresh Auckland horses will increase interest in events on the second day of the Manawatu Trotting Club’s meeting tomorrow.
The double is on the Ashhurst and Takaro Handicaps. Selections are:—
12.15 p.m.—Awapuni Handicap: Egyptian Rose, Rossola, Four Winds. 12.50 p.m.—Feilding Handicap—First Division: Predict, Gold Indian, Anton. Second Division: Bay Charger, Dancing Globe, Monterey. 1.25 p.m.—Pohangina Handicap: Distillery, Four Bells, Monito.
2.5 p.m.—Ashhurst Handicap: Madam Peterson, Superior Air, Major Ferguson.
2.40 p.m.—Palmerston North Handicap: Scottish Ensign, Bindora, Sleek Line.
3.15 p.m.—Takaro Handicap: Worthy Boy, Bobbin Head, Perekop. 3.50 p.m.—Fitzherbert Handicap: Dauntless Dan, Alchemist, Gay Wanderer.
4.30 p.m.—Flying Handicap: Slipalong, Superior Air, Madam Peterson.
Manawatu Scratchings The following scratchings have been issued for the Manawatu Trotting Club’s meeting today:— Awapuni Handicap: Annual Report, Rodger. Feilding Handicap: Joan Louise. Palmerston North Handicap: Panui. Flying Handicap; Ancona.
Hawke's Bay Scratchings Royal Zorra (Ormond Gold Cup) and Maracaibo (Hastings Hack Cup), have been scratched for their engagements at the Hawke’s Bay Jockey Club’s meeting on Saturday.—(P.A.)
