Residents Object In Petition

A protest against the use of Athletic Park, Woolston, for fruit and produce markets was contained in a petition signed by 265 residents of Smith street, Tilford street, and a small part of' Ferry road, presented to the City Council by Mr. J. Mathison, M.P. The petition, urging that the council prevent the moving of the markets to a residential area before reference to the residents was referred to the housing and town-planning committee.
