Lady Astor On Britain’s Lead

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, March 21. The American-born Viscountess Astor, has told America that if the world were saved it would be because Britain took the lead. Sailing in the liner Queen Elizabeth for England, Lady Astor replied to a reporter who asked whether she agreed that the United States was trying to save the world with dollars: “If you save the world, it will be because Britain took the lead. “Britain fought without America for two years in both wars. “The tragedy is that you now have the power and leadership and don’t want it.”
