Season Begins On May 1
The Canterbury Amateur Billiards Association’s 1957 season will begin on May 1. The association’s report and bal-ance-sheet presented at the annual meeting recently shows that the year has been very successful. There was a credit balance of £lO 2s Id and the assets were £205 9s lOd.
Two new affiliations were granted, one to the Woolston Working Men's Club and the other to the New Brighton Working Men's Club, bringing the total up to 15. Officers were elected as follows: natron. Sir Ernest Andrews: president. Mr G. L. Price: vice-president. Mr J. Black; judicial committee. Messrs H. Hewinson. J. Black, and T. Jackson; match committee, Messrs E. Simons, M. Cook, T. Quaid and C. Hamilton: finance committee. Messrs G. L. Price, J. Black and H. Hewinson; delegate to the New Zealand Amateur Billiards Association and Control Council, Mr G. S. Simpson; honorary solicitors, Messrs Hobbs and Corbett; honorary auditors. Messrs Cayf’ill, Hibberd and Moore; secretary-treasurer. Mr G. S. Simpson.
