Rangi-Ruru Pupils Visit Lyttelton

Led by the Mayor of Lyttelton (Mr F. G. Briggs) a party of girls from the Rahgi-ruru School, with two teachers, walked over the Bridle Path from Heathcote to Lyttelton yesterday morning. Mr Briggs pointed out places of interest to the party and gave an outline of the history of the port and town.

On the arrival of the party at Lyttelton, Mr Briggs obtained permission for them to be shown over the Shaw Savill and Albion liner Gothic in which the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh came to New Zealand on their Commonwealth tour.
