Connolly Awaits Wedding Decision

(Rec. 11 p.m.) PRAGUE, March 9. The United States hammerthrowing world champion, Harold Connolly, left Prague by air for Vienna today after bidding what could be a last farewell to his fiancee. Czechoslovakia's Olympic gold medallist, Olga Fikotova. Connolly and Miss Fikotova, the leading Czech woman discus thrower, met during the Olympic Games in Melbourne. They announced their decision to marry in Prague last week-end. Connolly is to give lectures and demonstrations in Austria and Poland before returning to Czechoslovakia so that he can be at the side of his fiancee as they await the Czech Government’s reply to her request for permission to marry him and settle in the United States. Last night Miss Fikotova, a fourth-year medical student at Prague's Charles University, said she and Connolly were hopeful that the Czech Government would approve their marriage plan in two or three weeks.
