At the meeting, he twice bettered the record of 5min 13sec which he established a year ago. Dalton was a member of the New Zealand team at the Olympic Games in Melbourne. RIGHT: Another Olympic rider, W. Johnston (Waikato), at back, and N. Fisher (Canterbury) competing m the quarter-finals of the 500-metre senior sprint championship. Johnston won this race and went on to retain his title.
