YES PLEASE IMPRESSES

SPRINT RACE AT WARWICK FARM [From the Australian Correspondent of '‘The Press”! SYDNEY. March 8. The New Zealand-owned three-year-old, Yes Please, will be one of the popular picks for the Doncaster Handicap, run at Randwick on Easter Saturday. Having his first run here, this robust son of Faux Tirage went within a stride of winning the feature sprint race at Warwick Farm on March 2. In a photo-finish he was third to Criollo and the hot favourite. Gay Vista, but was catching those horses brilliantly. Yes Please was a good winner as a two-year-old, and in the current season began well enough to suggest a good chance in Australian Pacing. Trained by M. McCartcn for his breeder, Mr T. C. Lowry, Yes Please certainly looks the part. McCarten said he had got Yes Please in fairly forward condition, and that while improvement could be expected as he became more solid with racing, there might not 'be anything spectacular in the form of Yes Please. However, many betters wanted to back Yes Please for the Doncaster, and he is now on the second line of favouritism to Teranyan. accompanied by Kings Fair and Ma Reine, also from New Zealand. Kings Fair shared favouritism with Teranyan until his defeat in the Futurity Stakes at Caulfield. Cheviot Trotting Club Withdrawals fnr the Cheviot Trotting Club's meeting at Rangiora on Saturday. March 16. 1957, close at 4 p.m. Today. March 11. 1957. with the Secretary. P. J. Byrne, 193 I Cashel street, Christchurch. —Advt.
