With the 1957 tour of Australia now only a few months away, many Canterbury Rugby players with prospects of a place in the team have been training assiduously. One such is the New Zealand and Canterbury three-quarter A. E. G. Elsom. Elsom has already represented New Zealand five times against Australia and was a member of the 1953-54 All Black team which toured the British Isles. He has also played more than 50 games for Canterbury.
