COMPENSATION PAYMENTS

Increase In Benefits Planned (New Zealand Press Aworidtfon) WAIPUKURAU. Mar. 8. His intention to introduce a new bill allowing greater benefits to the dependants of a married man entitled to payments under the Workers’ Compensation Act, was announced by the Minister of Labour (Mr J.‘ K. McAlpine) in Waipukurau last night

“I think a married man with dependent children is entitled to more consideration than a single man," said the Minister. “I hope also to increase the total amount payable to a widow of a man killed in industry—and I hope that these things can be done without an increase in premium."
