HAREWOOD TERMINAL

Sir. —Is there provision in the terminal buildings at Harewood for alcoholic refreshments and overnight sleeping accommodation? If not. why not. The proposal to erect a large hotel on Burnside roads seems to be going unopposed. Why let passengers and profits go down the road when the city could get the benefit? Why lose this opportunity of serving passengers and visitors? In other parts of the world waiting passengers can drink instead of grumble. Why not here? Our airport should have the licence and accommodation for passengers delayed or leaving early or late. There should be no need for a luxury hotel on busy Burnside road and no opportunity for a publican to make money out of our airport. The opoortunity exists; action before it is too late is required by the City Council. Government, and; airport planners. Let them show they are not neglectful of citizens' interests.—Yours, etc., MOSES. March 8, 1957.
