Further Gains By Insurance Shares

New Zealand Insurance shares sold in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch yesterday at 83s 6d, their top price this year. This price, which is Is above last week’s Christchurch price, is 2s 6d above their lowest cum dividend price this year. South British Insurance were also firmer in business elsewhere at 83s 9d. 1 urnover in Christchurch was the lowest for six weeks. No Government stock or local body debentures changed hands and turnover comprised less than 2300 sh; ires and rights. B.H.P. shares, ex rights, eased further. Most of the rights sold changed hands at 17s 4d but two smaller parcels went for 17s 3d, unchanged. Ampol rights were easier and Coles weakened slightly.
