Jeweller’s Shop Ransacked

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 3. For the second time in 18 months thieves have ransacked the Longton House jeweller’s shop at Milford. Between Friday night and yesterday morning they used iron bars to gain entry through a back window and seized £6OO worth of jewellery and watches. In July, 1955, £lOOO worth of jewellery was stolen from the same premises, at 79 Kitchener road. Police describe the latest crime as the work of experts. The thieves took more than 40 watches, clocks, strings of pearls,, diamonds, rings, lighters, electric shavers, novelty and good jewellery—ail the best stock.
