Canterbury Meat, B.H.P. Shares Firm
First local business in Canterbury Frozen Meat since the end of November was reported to the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. A parcel was sold for £25 ss, which compares with £26 before Christmas, since when a 25s dividend has been paid.
B.H.P. provided the sharpest price fluctuation among the recently-traded issues. Sales were made at 35s 4d and 35s 6d, compared with 34s 3d accepted in Christchurch on Tuesday. The rights tended to weaken, the largest parcel fetching 17s 3d and smaller parcels fetching 17s 6d (unchanged) and 17s sd.
Coles. 1.C.1.A.N.Z. rights, Waltons and Woolworths all fetched higher prices. Apart from B.H.P. rights, only Hays preference sold at a lower price.
