LAUNCH SERVICE PURCHASE
Approval By Loans Board The Local Government Loans Board has approved the raising of a loan by the Lyttelton Borough Council to purchase the Lyttelton-Di/mond Harbour launch service and the transfer from the owners, Sutton Brothers, Ltd., to the council will be made on Monday. Two launches, Ngatiki and On awe. a house in Lyttelton for a launchman. and lhe oil pumps on the launch jetty are included in the transaction. The council will discuss the administration of the service at the next council meeting on March 11. “All the old services will be maintained and the same timetables kept till then.” said the Town Clerk (Mr J. Thompson) yesterday. Until the council met no statement could be made regarding the purchase price of the service and its future administration, he said.
