MINOR FIRES
A dividing fence and a wall of a garage at 11 Frankleigh street, the property of George Biggs, were slightly damaged by?* fire yesterday morning. The fire was caused by a spark from an incinerator. Machines from the Central and Sydenham stations attended the fire at 11.23 a.m.
A short-circuit in the wiring beneath the dashboard caused a fire in a truck owned by Ballins Breweries, Ltd. The fire, which occurred near the corner of Cashel and Durham streets at 2.45 p.m. yesterday, was extinguished by a unit from the Central station. Damage to the wiring and the dashboard immobilised the truck.
At 5 p.m. units from headquarters and Sydenham attended a call to 25 Albert terrace, occupied by Albert Looce, where the contents of an electric oven were on fire. The fire caused no damage. No damage was caused by a chimney fire at 18 Rimu street, occupied by Frederick John Llewellyn. The call was answered at 5.32 p.m. by a machine from Sockburn.
