VISIT TO INDIA
Soviet Defence Minister
(Rec. 11 p.m.) MOSCOW. January 22. The Soviet Minister of Defence. Marshal Georgi Zhukov, will leave Moscow tomorrow to attend Indian National Day celebrations on Saturday, according to Moscow reports. The visit is, believed to be the result of an invitation extended by the Indian Prime Minister. Mr Nehru, during his Russian tour last year. The Soviet President. Marshal Voroshilov, has accepted an invitation by the Chinese leader. Mr Mao Tse-tung, to visit Peking from April 15 to May 5.
The Chinese visit and the present spate of “satellite" government delegations to Moscow are seen in Moscow as part of the general closing of Communist ranks in view of recent events in East Europe.
An Italian Communist Party delegation arrived in Moscow today headed by the deputy party secretary, Mr Luigi Longo. A Czech Government delegation is due in Moscow on Friday. Polish, Rumanian and East German delegations have already visited Moscow.
