VETERINARY SCHOOL
“Grave Need” For Dominion (New Zealana Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 21. The “grave need” for a veterinary school in New Zealand where post-graduate training could be made available was referred to by Dr. C. S. M. Hopkirk, retiring president, of Palmerston North, in his address to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Veterinary Association. “The lack of post-graduate training is becomng serious, for many young veterinarians realise that in the hurly-burly of practice they are not keeping abreast of the current knowledge which they require,” he said. “They also have information to impart which itself is valuable and gained in a practical school.”
The following officers were elected: President, Mr R. W. Roach (Auckland); vice-presi-dent, Professor J. W. McLean (Lincoln College), council, Dr. G. Edgar (Ruakura), Messrs C. Ensor (Whangarei), D. Macfarlane (Gisborne), J. M. Stewart (Wanganui) and G. L. Yockney ( Papakura).
