RIFLE SHOOTING
CHRISTCHURCH CLUB’S COMPETITION
The Christchurch Rifle Club fired the fourth three-range competition at Tai Tapu last week-end. Seven shots were fired, with two optional l siphters, at 300, 500, and 600 yards. N. Davidson was the winner and also won the prize for top score off the rifle. D. McKenzie scored the [only possible at 300 yards.

SYDENHAM CLUB
The second three-range competition of the Sydenham Rifle Club was won by V. Timms. He shot a good possible at 500 yards on the range at West Melton. Results were:— 300 500 600
Aviation Pioneer Dead. —Sir
Ivan Holyman, chairman and managing director of Australian National Airways, died while on holiday in Honolulu yesterday. He was 60. A pioneer of Australian aviation, he was one ol the founders of A.N.A.—Honolulu. January 19.
