REPAIRS MADE TO SCHOONER
DERWENT HUNTER SAILS FROM WELLINGTON (New Zealand Press Association) WFT J JNGTON- January 21. The 78-ton schooner Derwent Hunter, which arrived at Wellington on January 7. after a stormy passage from Hobart, has been fitted with a new main boom to replace the one smashed in a heavy gale on New Year's Day.
The ship, employed by the Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation on oceanographical survey operations and marine biology research, sailed today to continue her cruise in the Tasman Sea. After working to the westward of Cape Egmont. the vessel will call at New Plymouth for fuel and stores. She will then cruise to the vicinity of the Three Kings and thence to Norfolk Island and Sydney. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS AUCKLAND. January 21. Arrived.—Waihemo (5.25 a.m.).
