(Rec. 8 p.m.) MELBOURNE. Jan. 21. The Australian cricket team to tour New Zealand next month will be announced by the secretary .of the; Australian Board of Control (Mr J. Led ward) tomorrow or on Wednesday. The 14 players will be chosen by the Australian selectors. Sir Donald Bradman, Mr Jack Ryder, and Mr Dudley Seddon, in Sydney after the New South Wales Sheffield Shield match against South Australia. The names will be sent to Mr Ledward in Melbourne and telegraphed from there to the 13 members of the Board of Control for their approval “on grounds other than cricketing ability.” At the same time the secretary will probably ask the board to nominate the captain and vice-captain of the team.

The team will leave Sydney for New Zealand by air on February 14 for a 12-match tour.
