Pupils of the Gregg-Banks College in Christchurch had the following successes in examinations last year: New Zealand Court reporters’ examination (November), also shorthand speed certificate, 180 words a minute: Joan Collins. Government Examinations for Shorthand typists.—Special (July): Betty-A. Teague (first for South Island), also shorthand speed certificate. 160 words a minute. Senior (June): Heather A. W. Champion (first for South Island). Junior (June): Marjory E. Trotter (first for South Island); (November) Hilary M. Burn (first for South Island). Avril P. Angas (second for South Island). In Chamber of Commerce examinations the following students won seven honours passes and 23 distinctions; A. P. Angas. H. M. Burn, K. D. Quiglev. I. Powrie, M. T. Martin. P. Bardsley, P. E. Hartley.
