Miss Prudence Lambert, who recently returned to Wellington from a tour of Europe, was able to get an interesting position in London. Working as a receptionist for a car-hire firm, which had a fleet of 1000 cars, she was able to meet many wellknown personalities. As many of the would-be hirers were from overseas and could not speak English, one of the chauffeurs would always come to the rescue as he spoke nine languages. Miss Lambert, with two other New Zealand girls, also worked on the New Zealand stand at the Ideal Home exhibition in Glasgow, where most of their sales talk developed into descriptions of their homeland. Mrs Noel Henry, of Paris, who has been staying with Mrs Clarence Amyes, Straven road. Fendalton. plans to take up residence indefinitely in the vicinity of Mt. Egmont, where her husband. Mr Noel Henry, the former Minister for France in New Zealand, died at the end of 1953. Mrs Henry plans to complete a book which her husband had been writing.
Miss Kathleen Reardon, formerly of Auckland, gave her first recital in London recently, when she sang two groups of songs at a concert given by the New Zealand Music Society. More recently she sang at a public recital in Wigmore Hall, London. Miss Reardon will return to New Zealand in April and will take part in the Auckland Music Festival.
