THEFT OF MEAT
TWO MEN FINED £4O EACH
(New Zealand Press Association) NAPIER, December 27. Three men appeared before Mr W. A. Harlow, S.M., in the Napier Magistrate’s Court this afternoon on charges of breaking and entering and stealing meat from the Hawke's Bay Master Butchers’ Association’s abattoirs at Awatoto early this morning. They pleaded guilty. Two brothers, Neville Owen Orringe, a driver, aged 36, and Frederick Thomas Orringe, a builder, aged 40, both of Napier, were each fined £4O. with costs. Terence Rosieur Hannon, a 46-year-old rigger, of Marewa, Napier, was remanded in custody till tomorrow for sentence. The meat stolen was valued at £4 10s.
