HOTTEST DAY OF SUMMER
High Winds And Low Humidity The highest temperature of the summer. 83.8 degrees, was recorded at the weather office at Harewood between noon and 1 p.m. yesterday. From 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., the temperature dM not fall below 80 degrees. The previous highest temperature this summer was 83.4 degrees. recorded on December 21. The maximum temperature Boxing Day last year was T3J degrees. The humidity yesterday. IS per cent., is believed to be nearly the lowest ever recorded in Christchurch. The same figure was recorded at an altitude of 25.(XWft Wind velocities were high yesterday. and a gust of 42 knots w® recorded at 3.10 p.m. This is equivalent to 49 miles an hourThe average wind velocity was nearly 32 miles an hour.
