Forecast:— Canterbury: Strong northerly winds, with rain over the ranges and possible brief rain elsewhere during the morning; moderating winds and fair weather later; mild to warm temperatures. Outlook: rain developing. West Coast.—Strong northerly winds and rain at first, moderating westerly winds, showers, and fair intervals later, with possibly more rain in north Westland at night; moderate temperatures. Outlook: unsettled at first, fair later. Marlborough and Nelson.—Strong north-west winds; showers during the day and rain in the evening: mild temperatures. Outlook: unsettled.
