DOUGHAN, Registrar. 7472 PAPARUA COUNTY COUNCIL DISCONTINUANCE OF WATER-RACES NOTICE is hereby given that in pursuance of the powers conferred upon it by The Counties Act, 1920, The Water Supply Act, 1908, and Amendments thereto, the Paparua County Council, at a special meeting held on Friday, December 14, 1956, passed a resolution by way of Special Order to discontinue four water races — Races Nos. 1 and 2 as from April 30. 1957, and Races Nos. 3 and 4 as from March 31. 1957—briefly described in the schedule below. Any person entitled to use water from such water races may, within,one month of the date of the Special Order, apply to a Magistrate’s Court for an Order setting aside the Special Order of the Council. SCHEDULE RACE I—This Race will be discontinued from a ..point on the south-west side of Wilson street and approximately 11J chains north-west of Waterloo road. The race at present continues from this point along Wilson street and then east along Waterloo road to Hei Hei road,, where it divides into two: Race (1A) crosses Hei Hei road and proceeds to the Hornby School swimming baths and Race (IB) proceeds north-east along Hei Hei road to the pond in the hospital grounds.

RACE 2—This Race will be discontinued from a point on Wilson street at the culvert crossing Wlison street aproximately 12 chains north-west of Waterloo road. The race at. present continues in a south-east direction through private property on the north-east side of Wilson street and enters Waterloo road by the Islington Police Station.

RACE 3—This Race will be discontinued from a point on Main South road near Brynley street. The race at present continues along Brynley street, through private land and across Neill street and then proceeds through back land between Neill street and Garvins road and parallel with Neill street to Springs road. It continues through the Wigram aerodrome to Vickerys road and discharges into the depression near the soap works. RACE 4—This Race will be discontinued from a point on Buchanans road near Hei Hei road. The race at present continues along in front of the group housing on Buchanans road, it crosses Carmen road and passes through behind the houses and through the Wattledene Poultry farm to terminate as a dead end behind the Wattledene poultry farm.

A full copy of the Special Order describing in detail the races to be discontinued, together with a plan showing such races, is deposited at the County Offices. Sockburn, and is open to the inspection of the public during office hours until the eighth day of February, 1957. The -Special Order will be submitted for confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the council, to be held in the Council Offices. Sockburn, at 7.30 p.m., on Friday, February 8, 1957.
