N.Z. PARACHUTE CLUBS
MOVE FOR FORMATION OF FEDERATION
The formation of a national federation of parachute clubs would enable a New Zealand representative to be sent to the world parachuting championships held in Europe, said the retiring president, Mr T. M. F. Taylor, at the third annual meetifig of the Christchurch Parachute Club. Mr Taylor said that at present a move was being made to federate the Auckland. Manawatu and Christchurch clubs on a national basis and so Win recognition from the Federation Internationale Aeronautique. Sixty-four training and 29 display jumps had been made during the year, said the annual report of the club. Display descents had been made at airfields between Invercargill and Nelson, and also at Palmerston North. Training jumps had been made at Harewood, Wigram and Ashburton. Officers elected were:—president, Mr R. J. Dellow; secretary-treasurer, Mr H. R. Te Ua; chief instructor, Mr A. Parry: assistant instructor, Mr F. D. Jackson: club captain. Mr C. A. Nelson; committee. Messrs J. Harry and R. V. M. Versteegh and Miss V. R. Lowen.
