SCHOOL NATIVITY PLAY

LINWOOD INTERMEDIATE’S PRODUCTION The nativity play produced last evening in the Linwood intermediate School Hall marked the end of the school’s first y€ fhe stage, simply draped, with ingenious lighting effects engineered by Mr J T. Williams, was the setting for several tableaux—the Annunciation; the shep-

herds in the fields; the scene in the manger; the visit of the three wise men; visitations of angels. 'All culminated in a grand finale when some 70 or 80 children, dressed in the costumes of the nations of the world, paraded through the audience and then formed a group on the stage. At the rear of the hall, 90 members of the choir, under the direction of Mr Owen Michel, provided a background of hymns and carols to fill out the story read by three of the school’s pupils.
