GOVERNMENT LOAN
£592,070 Needed On Final Day (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. November 22. “The success or otherwise of this loan will depend on how much is subscribed tomorrow,” said the Minister of Finance (Mr J. T. Watts) this afternoon, in making a final appeal to investors to support the Government’s £5,000,000 loan, which will close torporrow.
He said that up to the close of business today subscriptions totalled £4.407.930 from 2590 applicants. “This leaves us just over £500.000 to get,” said Mr Watts, "and we have to get it tomorrow.”
