LINGERIE THEFT IN AUCKLAND
Underwear Worth £2OO Stolen (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, November 22. An astounding taste in lingerie was shown by thieves who broke into Mrs N. Masson’s shop in Variety lane, off Dominion road, Balmoral, early this morning. Among other things, they stole a pair of pink corsets, size 42. Mrs Masson considers that at least £2OO worth of lingerie has been lost. The thieves stripped models of brassieres, panties with black French lace edges, corselettes, and stockings A large quantity of stockings and nylon underwear was also stolen, together with a display photograph, described by Mrs Masson as being for female consumption only, from the corset fitting room. Articles from five hangers were stolen, but Mrs Masson says she cannot yet tell whether they are nightgowns, dressing gowns, pyjamas, or slips.
