Markets Quiet But Prices Mainly Firm
The volume of'business on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday was reduced but prices generally were firm. Gains were shown by Commercial Bank of Australia, preference, F.A.M.E. Insurance, B.H.P. and Waltons. Standard Insurance and Whakatane Board Mills sold unaltered. Sellers of Booth Macdonald dropped their offers to Is without attracting buyers. Buying bids this week have ranged from Id to 3d.
