"BEST MILK IN THE WORLD”
CLAIM OF PRODUCERS’ EXECUTIVE REPLY TO DR. DUNKLEY’S CRITICISM (New Zealand Press Association) PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 21. “Town milk producers throughout the Dominion will appreciate the ‘helpful criticisms’ of town milk shed standards made by Dr. W. Dunkley,’’ said Mr V. S. Lynskey, secretary of the Town Milk Producers’ Federation of New Zealand, today. “It is realised the criticism was based mainly on the comparison of shed standards in California with those here and no regard taken of local factors which may have accounted for the variations mentioned. “Town supply dairies in New Zealand are rigidly controlled and licensed by the Department of Agriculture. The sheds are subject to regular inspection. The licence requires that the shed must meet certain standards of cleanliness and hygiene. All openings in the milkroom must be screened and the door kept closed.
