TRIUMPH AND TRAGEDY.—One of the most dramatic moments in the 1952 Games at Helsinki. About 100 metres from the finish of the 5000 metres event, C. Chataway (Great Britain) was in the lead, but fell. Here he is seen sprawled on the track while E. Zatopek (Czechoslovakia), A. Mimoun (France) and H. Schade (Germany) race for the tape. They finished in that order.
