LOCAL ELECTIONS
Sir, —It is hoped the powers that be look further into the ward system for the municipal voting. A large number of voters hardly know anything but the names of candidates, and it is, to say the least, a confusing state of affairs for many voters and would-be voters. We would know our local candidates and be better equipped to assess their individual qualifications, etc. Moreover, at present, the appeal to voters is bound to lend itself to a tincture of political bias, surely something to keep at the minimum in local affairs.—Yours, etc., HERBERT FORD. November 19, 1956.
