INTER-CLUB NIGHT COMPETITION The third round of the night Inter-club lawn tennis competition at the Opawa Club’s lighted courts resulted as follows: South Brighton v. St. Paul’s.—Women's double: Mrs Boatwood and Miss Craythorne beat Misses Pollock and Saunders, 10- Men’s double: Jones and Atkinson beat Conaghan and Godfrey, 11-3. Mixed doubles: Jones and Mrs Boatwood beat Godfrey and Miss Saunders, 13-1; Atkinson and Miss Cra»thorne beat Conaghan and Miss Pollock, 13-1. South Brighton won by 4 matches to 0. Elmwood A v. Linwood Avenue.— Women’s doubles: Misses Parker and Speight beat Misses Reid and Blackburn, 7-6. Men’s doubles: Palliser and Flesher beat Reid and Blackburn, 8-5. Mixed doubles: Palliser and Miss Parker lost to Reid and Miss Reid, 5-9; Flesher and Miss Speight beat Blackburrr and Miss Blackburn, 10-7. Elmwood won by 3 matches to 1. North Linwood A v. Elmwood B.— Women’s doubles: Misses Adams and Epans lost to Misses Johnson and Hender- ; son. 6-11.- Men's doubles: Crawford and Pritchard beat Wilson and O’Sullivan, 11- Mixed doubles: Pritchard and Miss Evans beat Wilson and Miss Henderson, 9-8; Crawford and Miss Adams lost to O’Sullivan and Miss Johnson. 7-9. The result was a draw, 33 games each. North Linwood B v. Opawa.—Women’s double: Misses McGarry and Reddington lost to Misses Hendy and Patterson. 5-11. Men’s double: Beatty and Harneiss beat Clarke and Frater, 8-6. Mixed doubles: Beatty and Miss McGarry beat Clarke and Miss Patterson, 10-7; Harneiss ana Miss Reddington beat Frater and Miss Hendy, 9-6. North Linwood won by 3 matches to 1 Best scores in the fifth round of the club's Anderson and Hill competition on the lighted courts were:—Women: Miss G. Patterson 23. Miss P. Hendy 18. Men: R. Mellish 23. E. Dawson 20.
