POLICE WITHDRAW CHARGES

DEATH OF ACCUSED (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. November 19. When the name of Charles Te Pere, aged 23, was called in the Magistrate’s Court, the police asked that two charges of breaking and entering and theft and one of stealing a cheque for £l4 17s, preferred against Te Pere, be withdrawn. The prosecution said the accused had died in the Wellington Hospital on November 13. after he was last remanded the day before. The information was accordingly withdrawn.
