(Rec. 10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 19. Lincoln Hurring, New Zealand s leading backstroke swimmer, has been weight-lifting to build up his strength. He now weighs 12st 71b—101b more than when he left New Zealand to attend lowa State University three years ago. Hurring has been training twice a day since he arrived in Melbourne from America last week.

“I feel strong in the water, but I arfi not swimming fast enough yet,” s&id Hurring at the Olympic illage today.
