EAST EUROPE
Sir,—“Lest We Forget” counsels vour readers not to forget what Russia did during the last war. I can assure him that we won’t. We still remember that Molotov backed the wrong horse just before th? opening of hostilities and has been a haunted man ever since, especially as he also ignored the warnings of the Allies in May, 1941, that Hitler intended to attack his country in a month. No notice’ was taken of these timely warnings and on June 26, 1941, the Germans acted.—Yours, etc., O. M. BRUNDALL. November 17, 1956.
