CONVICT BEATEN TO DEATH
“CALLOUS KILLING” BY TWO PRISONERS iN.Z. Press Assoctation—Copyngnt) RAIFORD (Florida), October 2. Two convicts in Florida State Prison brutally beat a fellow prisoner to death at the week-end ecause he ratted,” guards reported. The prison warden (Mr Dewitt Sinclair) described the two -convicts, Frank Allen, aged 36, and William Stinson, aged 20, as “a couple of the hardest, most callous prisoners I’ve seen." He said they killed their fellow inmate, Robert Pilsbury, by beating him with a tap handle wrapped in strips of blanket. Mr Sinclair said Allen and Stinton then called to a guard and said: “Here’s one yoq can turn over to the undertaker.” It was the third killing of a prisoner by convicts here this year. A fourth was wounded fatally by guards during a riot on May 17. The State Prosecutor (Mr Ted Duncan) said the case against the two
