Last Gore Hotel Sold

The last of Gore’s three remaining hotels, the Stewart, opposite the railway station, has been purchased by Mr P. H. Vickery, of Christchurch, for £9655. This is announced by Mr R. B. Bannerman, solicitor for the estate of the late George Peterson, which owned the building. It is believed that negotiations had been proceeding between the administrators -of the estate and the .Mataura Licensing Trust for the purchase of the building. At a meeting of the trust members held a long discussion in committee on the accommodation position in Gore.
