T-e Agriculture Department today innounced a shorn wool incentive price of 62 cents per lb and a mohair incentive price of 70 cents per lb for the 1957 marketing year, beginning on April 1. 1957 These were the same the support prices set by the department for the 1955 and 1956 wool marVeting years. The denartment establishes prices under an act of Congress. This act replaced the old method of supporting domestic wool prices. With the incentive payments Congress hopes to raise the annual United States wool production to 300.000.0001 b. The department estimated 1956 wool production at 231,800,0001 b.
