Family Car With Turbine Drive
(Rec. 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, Sept. 21. Britain has produced the world’s first turbo-driven family saloon car, the “Daily Express” said today. A leading car firm will decide on Monday whether to put it iri next month’s London Motor Show. Five years of research work and development have gone into the car. Bus, van and lorry drivers will soon enjoy two-pedal luxury driving, the “Daily Mirror” says. Most of the vehicles on show at the commercial motor show opening at Earls Court today have the new semiautomatic or fully automatic gear boxes, which cut out the clutch pedal.
