MINOR FIRES

Slight damage was done to a car which caught fire in St. Asaph street about 6.52 p.m. yesterday. The car belongs to Mr Ronald Charles Underwood, 261 Hoon Hay road, Halswell. The fire was attended by units from the Central station. One unit from the St. Albans station attended a chimney fire at the home of Mr George Derrick Matthews, 128 Knowles street, Papanui, at 7.1 a.m. yesterday. At 6.40 a.m. a unit from St. Albans attended a chimney fire at the home of Mr Robert William Wade. 57A Carlton Mill road, and a unit from the Sydenham station extinguished a chimney fire at the home of Dorothy McGerty, 3 Therese street, Spreydon, at 5.43 p.m. Slight damage wac done to a small factory at 27 Southwark street, owned by Mr F. Thomas and occupied by Mr E. J. Holm, early this morning. The fire was attended by' two units from the Central station.
