1 Inter-Island School Excursions.—One - • day educational excursions in the other ‘ island are now being offered to school > pupils by the Union Steam Ship Company. On Thursday the first party to ■ be thus carried —32 children and two 1 teachers from the Lyall Bay School—- ; arrived from Wellington, spent the day 1 touring Christchurch, visited glass--1 works, travelled on the Summit road, t and then returned to Wellington in f the evening. The Educet tion Board has not yet been aps proached about exchange visits, but it usually consents to such schemes proJ vided the educational value compenJ sates for the time away from school.
