The weather forecast issued at 9 p.m by the Meteorological Office, Wellington for the 27 hours after the time of issue Is:— Situation:— A depression is centred south-east of the South Island. Forecast:— AU Districts.—South-west winds, strong in exposed place, elsewhere moderate; variable skies, with periods of showers, more frequent in exposed coastal areas; temperatures cold: snow showers in the hills. Outlook.—Similar conditions. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was cloudy, writh showers of rain and hail. There was a fresh south-west wind. At midnight, the sky was cloudy, and an 11-knot westerly wind was blowing. The temperature was 39.3 degrees. The barometer, at 29.35 inches (994 millibars), was rising slowly.
