ANGLICAN LOYALTY DINNER
MORE THAN 360 AT FUNCTION A loyalty dinner for more than 360 parishioners in the Prebbleton, Templeton, Hornby and West Melton Anglican parochial district was held in Christchurch on Thursday evening. The purpose of the function was for parishioners to hear from district leaders their plans for the extension of spiritual, social and financial activities. Every household in the district will be called on and invitations extended for residents to share more fully in the family life of the Church. The dinner was presided over by Mr T. W. Stephenson. The speakers were Messrs H. Prebble, H. Webb and W. Hartnell, of Prebbleton, and Messrs H. Depree and J. Williams, of Hornby. The guest speaker was the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. Martin Sullivan). The parish was a rapidly expanding one, and the Church must expand in it too, said Dean Sullivan. By increasing their giving to the Church, people would increase their interest in it, and through their increased sense of stewardship, it would become a vital and living factor lor good in the community.
